Tower Bridge @ London , UK

Tower Bridge (built 1886–1894) is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London which crosses the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, from which it takes its name, and has become an iconic symbol of London.

The bridge consists of two towers tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways, designed to withstand the horizontal forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge on the landward sides of the towers. The vertical component of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. The bridge's present colour scheme dates from 1977, when it was painted red, white and blue for Queen Elizabeth II's silver jubilee. Originally it was painted a mid greenish-blue colour.

What will you think of when saying about London ? ?

This ?

Or this ?

I think of The London Eye -- a giant ferris wheel

The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London, England. The entire structure is 135 metres (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres (394 ft).

It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe. When erected in 1999 it was the world's tallest Ferris wheel, until surpassed first by the 160 m (520 ft) Star of Nanchang in 2006 and then the 165 m (541 ft) Singapore Flyer in 2008. Supported by an A-frame on one side only, unlike the taller Nanchang and Singapore wheels, the Eye is described by its operators as "the world's tallest cantilevered observation wheel".[5] It offered the highest public viewing point in the city[citation needed] until it was superseded by the 245-metre (804 ft)[6] observation deck on the 72nd floor of The Shard, which opened to the public on 1 February 2013.[7]

The London Eye, or Millennium Wheel, was officially called the British Airways London Eye and then the Merlin Entertainments London Eye. Since 20 January 2011, its official name is the EDF Energy London Eye[8] following a three-year sponsorship deal. It is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, visited by over 3.5 million people annually.

The observation wheel turns slow enough for people to embark while it is moving. A complete turn takes about 30 minutes. Due to the construction of the glass capsules on the outer side of the rim,the passengers have a great 360° view over London. Many famous landmarks are clearly visible, including Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Houses of Parliament. On a clear day you can see as far as 40 km (25 miles).

Bonjour Paris --> Lover's Bridge (Pont des Arts)

Paris is not only the city of light , it is also known as ‘the romance capital’ and the ‘city for lovers’.   Besides than the Eiffel Tower , there is another spot that stands above the rest of the amorous Parisian locations: the Ponts des Arts.

The Pont des Arts or Passerelle des Arts is a pedestrian bridge in Paris which crosses the Seine River. It links the Institut de France and the central square (cour carrée) of the palais du Louvre .It is build in 1804, the nine-arch metallic footbridge is a destination for couples wishing to memorialize their love.

Lovers from near and far visit the bridge to attach padlocks emblazoned with initials and messages  .After locking the love padlock onto the fence, lovers throw the keys into the Seine river as a sign of their eternal devotion.

For couples visiting from all over the world, these locks were symbols of their everlasting love.

Look !! So many lovers wrote their name on the love locks .

Bonjour Paris --> The Eiffel Tower

I've never been to France before, and Paris was the one place I have always want to visit . If I really have the chance to be there , the first thing I will do is to take many photos with the Eiffel Tower .

The Eiffel Tower (French: La Tour Eiffel, [tuʁ ɛfɛl]) is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It was named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. The tower is the tallest structure in Paris[10] and the most-visited paid monument in the world.

The tower stands 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building. The tower has three levels for visitors. The third level observatory's upper platform is at 279.11 m (915.7 ft) the highest accessible to the public in the European Union. Tickets can be purchased to ascend, by stairs or lift (elevator), to the first and second levels. The walk from ground level to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. Although there are stairs to the third and highest level, these are usually closed to the public and it is usually accessible only by lift. The first and second levels have restaurants.
